Back for a bit
Hi,
As some may have noticed I've become more active on the Amp again. That's because I have a little bit more time now that I've diminished my interest in playing a certain online game which I have consciously done to free some time to study on a course I'm following.
I believe the proper english term of what I'm studying for is Radiation Officer. In the Netherlands, this comes in 5 levels and I'm following the 2nd level (which is called 4, 5 being the first level). So far so good, and if all goes well I will go for 3 aswell. The examination will take place on the 8th of december.
Level 4 (nr 2 in the Netherlands) is a post-academic course which only has a handful of students every two years. The final level has only been achieved by a handful of scientists, Stephen Hawkings being one of the very few. But so far, I myself am only learning how to operate a x-ray machine (among other things).
Anyway, one can only study so much on one day. And I'm sure as hell not going to play addictive games in the spare time because I know where THAT will lead to. So here's me with spare time on the Amp just like good old times.
Cheers.

New Band part II
.... So we scheduled our first gig to take place somewhere in July, which is right around the corner! However, our guitarist managed to BREAK HIS IFFIN PAW so he's down for a few weeks.
Dam sod took on a brick wall and the brick wall won. Naturally, walls have a tendency to not budge when under attack by a mere human fist of flesh and bone... He should've used a armored car or explosives of some kind instead...
Good part is that he's recovering fast and our gig plans might not be in jeopardy yet. As a band, beside forementioned misfortune, we've been doing really well and are ready to wash all over town with our sonic tonnage testing.
Remember to bring your earplugs.
You will need them. Badly.

New Band
Hi guys,
I started a new band, and that together with some other things in my life have caused me to move away from the amp. Whenever I have something sensible to say, or whenever we have some decent recordings, I will be uploading and reviewing (and moderating) again.
For now you won't find me here very often. Bandamp has done many good things for me, and I am by no means disappearing forgood - I simply have other priorities. Real life music and leasure activies are simply more fun and take up so much time I simply can't be on here on a daily basis anymore. Well you couldve seen it coming a long time ago
Cheers all, see ya later!

Motivate
Half way creating a new band; there may yet be hope for my musicality. Well, atleast playing online games gets too tedious to keep up for prolonged periods of time, and one needs to have a hobby, right? So there's the motivation. I hate to admit that it ain't much of a motivation, but it's better than having no motivation at all.
Hmmm now to find more reason to spend more time on BandAMP. If I should have one, please let me know.

I forgot
... to mention that the september gig I did with grainshifter was a neat bit of a success, considering the collaboration with three VJ's who were projecting their material on three large screens siding and backing the stage. The audience's response was pretty good too, and the number of peeps in the audience gradually increased the longer we were playing (we drew them in from the bar side of the venue).
There were some TV cameras running, and we were interviewed, but I have no idea what they did with the footage. The guy shooting it said he would put stuff up YouTube, but if he has, I can't find it.
Anyway, all such things are non important. What's important is - it was a great experience, I definately want to have a VJ in the band's line-up, but other than that for now my relationship with music in general continues to be defined as one of mutual disinterest. Ergo, my sabbatical continues, but I can still be found here on the amp and if you need anything you can always pm me.

Pups iffy animation videos
Hi again,
I went through my DV tapes and found my first and only flirtations with animation. Sadly I never had time to do more experimentation with the whole stop motion thing, and I'm not a great video editor in general, either. But, for your entertainment, I uploaded these "little gems" to youtube for you all to enjoy.
So here goes:
Flop the Gnome
End of a Twat (contains violence)
I like the first one better .. both videos are backed with some rare music tracks aswell.
Enjoy ... feel free to comment and rate ofcourse (be gentle lol)

Puppets Live Videos
Hi guys.. I haven't been online a lot lately, but that's mainly because I've been focusing on life outside the pixels, and part of that life is the band I've been playing in since the beginning of this year.
Recently, we had our first gig and it went really well - we recorded the whole session to video and I uploaded two of the songs to Youtube so I could share it with... you guys!
We've named ourselves The Welcome Room eventually, playing to have fun mainly.
So here they are:
Maelstrom
Surprise Extra Song
I wrote Maelstrom back in 1994, now for the first time being played by a live band with a real drummer. Well, it took long enough
We didn't really plan on playing that extra song, as we never studied how to play it properly... But it turned out just fine.
Hope you enjoy!

Slow navigation and freezups
Errr I'm suffering from increasingly slow page loads and browser freeze ups upon trying to post... I'm on firefox but I doubt thats the problems. Its been like this since this weekend, not before... Wot 2 do?
Life is a Logic
Thought I'd upload this...
It's a really old ('98?), really minimalist sample based industrial-punk groove piece, with all home brewn samples I had made just for the occasion. I made this with a friend at a friends house, who now, 10 years later, has become lead singer in our band. We are now in a 4-piece typical rock band formation working on a version of this song aswell, that's why I'm posting it.
So - do not expect ultra hi fi super smooth samples here, they were made via the soundcard input at the time, and at 8 bit mono settings only. There is no panning involved - it's all about the groove of this funny little song. I just hope you can enjoy!
Created in Impulse tracker. Guitar sound created with roland vg-8 sampled into cpu. Drums samples via Alesis SR16. Voice sampled via crappy mic on cpu mic input (even worse). "Life is a logic" is my voice, "beep beep beep" is Art's.

Problem!
Hey I noticed a problem: The front page isn't being updated.
JimK posted something new to the announce section, but it didn't end up on the front page.
Also, I had edited the MeowMachine interviews post to feature the latest interview (TLS's), and though this does show up in the announce section, it does not do so on the front page.
Could someone with access to the code look into this? Thanks
